18 days...

Write a wedding ceremony that... is simple, is sweet, is just heartwarming enough to make my eyes glisten but not sappy enough that I need to worry about my mascara, is "us", is memorable, is 30-minutes or less - check!

Although the skeleton of the ceremony comes from a collaboration of different versions of your 'typical' wedding, almost all of it is in our own words.

But my favorite part is the vows and the exchange of the rings, in which we've incorporated these inspiring quotes:

"I will simply love.  I am giving myself to you, and tomorrow I will do it again."
Donald Miller

"Be patient with me and help me love you better."

20 days...

Find a dress that... is not too formal, is not too casual, I could wear again, makes me feel beautiful, allows me to comfortably hold my baby all night long and still be a cute mama for my husband-to-be, is under $100 - check!

Now, the accessories and the shoes. That's a different story.

The two amazing women standing up there with me will be wearing black dress (of their own choosing) and I'm not sure if I should accent my white dress with black, or with some other color.  I'm leaning toward a lighter blue or purple - maybe.

To be continued...

32 days...

The cake.

Personally, I like to have my cake and eat it, too.  (Who doesn't!)  And there are just so many delicious kinds of sweet goodness that it was hard to choose only one thing.

So our cake will be two small (round, I think?) layers - the larger bottom layer will be vanilla cake with strawberry filling, the top layer will be carrot cake with cream cheese filling, and both cakes will be covered in buttercream icing.

Mmmm... note to self: probably shouldn't write about cake in the morning.  Now I'll want something sweet with my coffee for breakfast!

33 days...

I bought a dress.

Well... we'll see if it's THE one - that remains to be determined.

I bought it online at a random site I've never heard of which was suggested to me by my future mother-in-law.  It's super simple.  It's white.  It feels like a dress I could wear to a summer picnic.  It lends itself to lots of fun, fancy jewelry.  It was under $100 (including the rush shipping!).

Said dress should arrive at my apartment by Friday.  And after I try it on, THEN we'll know if it's really the one.  Fingers crossed!

48 days...

A while back I wrote a 90 DAYS blog.  And after that I wrote a 90 DAYS reprise.  Today is our daughter's 3 month birthday and it makes me reflect on that 90 day cycle yet again.

So much has happened in these past 90 days - giving birth, visiting family, learning to parent, leaning on each other (well, let's be more honest, clinging to each other) for support, going back to work, fitting back into my clothes, getting engaged, planning a wedding... it's all too much sometimes!

Too much of a good thing, that is.
And I've heard you can never have too much of that.

Here's to whatever the next 90 days may bring...
